Okay, as promised, some pictures and a short video of the kids and their bikes. They are loving them and gamely head out down the (gravel) driveway at each chance they get. They are learning to stick to the well traveled lanes that are smoother. They also love opportunities to go to parks. So far, their favorite is to ride in loops around basketball courts, they are a little less brave about the path systems that often involve going up and down hills. Well, I take that back, E is a little uncertain... S would like all his biking to include wildly careening down hills- legs out, handlebars barely under control. The first time he located a little hill leading down to a gully at our local park, we watched as he pedaled over and - swoop! Disappeared out of sight. This was great fun and he did it a few more times before Mommy couldn't take it anymore and said that was enough....
But really, their love of their bicycles may show their side from the Netherlands.... although J insists he never had training wheels... so I guess that shows their American side!

Things I Have No Explanation For...
The following are pictures that perhaps I should be reluctant to share- but really, since I have absolutely no explanation for them.... I think you should get as much out of them as I have.Honestly, I have no idea where or how E got the idea to tuck her stack of pretend money into the front of her shirt like that. Honestly.
Not one to be outdone on silliness.... E's baby seat makes a very nice face shield/hat.
E cannot stop laughing each time she sees these pictures of L post bath. Especially the top one.
Sometimes you just a need a ballet partner. Alas, this is not the first time S has found himself in a tutu.
And sometimes, after a long day of bike riding, the very first day you get a new tricycle, you just fall asleep right on the wood floor. Sometimes I do that too...

Crawling
What do friends not let friends do? Watch video clips of their 10-11 month old learning to crawl? Oh no, wait, friends don't let friends drive drunk! Ok, then! In that case, here a couple clips of L in his crawling journey. And it was a crawling journey.
First Crawling- 5-23-10
Embarrassingly, it was actually very hard to get any video of L... where some frame did not include a picture of S in the background sans pants or underwear. Yes, S is being potty trained and really the only way to do this is the nakey approach. So, it took a while to get a G rated video of L crawling.... But here we do have S in the background. Completely asleep! This is after I have moved him from his nap in his bed onto the couch, hoping to wake him up. The kids were very tired from a long day of bike riding! Yes, bike posts to be coming soon!
Much better at crawling- 6-8-10
L is already even more coordinated with the crawling- if you know of a market for baby drool let me know.
We are now embarking on the effort to get him to sleep longer than a two hour stretch, which he hasn't ever done. This will involve some nights with even less sleep for a while, but hopefully, will result in a better night sleep for everyone in the end!
